Welcome to our home page. We are so glad that you decided to visit. A lot of our site will be geared towards our adoption experiences. We adopted Sophia Damira from Petropavlovsk, Kazakhstan on April 24, 2001. Sophia was born on October 10, 2000. We adopted our second daughter Victoria Leigh February 17th, 2003 from Kokshetau, Kazakhstan. Victoria was born August 10, 2002. We hope you enjoy reading about our journey to bring Sophia and Victoria home and our lives since they have joined our family.

There are also pictures of our Home and some of the projects we have undertaken and for the guys a Boston Whaler page and our 17' Newport that we have restored and updated.

Where in the heck is Kazakhstan? Part of the old Soviet Union. Borders China, Russia, the Caspian Sea and then all those other Stan countries. "Stan" means "Land". Like our "ville" or "burg". Many of the people there are of Mongolian decent. Like Sophia, she is Asian Mongolian also known as Kazak.

Our Journey for Sophia begins 2001.

Leave Jacksonville April 12th, Noon for Atlanta, then JFK, New York.
Arrive Moscow 11:50 A.M. April 13th.
Leave Moscow Midnight for Omsk, Russia
Arrive Omsk 6:30 A.M. April 14th.
Dr.Rimma and Valentina meets us.
Van ride from Omsk to Petro, Kazakhstan.
Arrive at the Orphanage at 2:45 P.M.
Meet Sophia Damira April 14th for the first time.
Court date April 24th 10:00A.M.
Official decision from court 2:15 P.M.
Leave Petro April 25th for Almaty.
Leave Almaty 2:30 A.M. April 27th for Moscow.
Arrive Marriott Grand Hotel 6:30 A.M. April 27th.
Doctor check up at 8:00 A.M.
U.S. Embassy 2:00 P.M. for Sophia’s Visa
Leave Moscow 11:50 A.M. May 1st.
Arrive Jacksonville 2:00 A.M. May 2nd.
